Solution For The Habit of Masturbation

Masturbation as you have known, is the habit of deriving sexual pleasure from any object other than the opposite sex. That is how I can define this pervasive habit.

Masturbation is a habit which both men and women get involved in or form for one reason or another. It is a very wrong way to derive sexual pleasure. It is classified as one of the unclean acts or habits that God hates. Masturbation is a habit which, once formed is very hard to break or quit regardless of whether you are married or single.

I have heard a man testify during a church service how he was delivered from this terrible habit. He revealed one thing that shocked me. He said that he was so captivated by the habit of masturbation that whenever the urge came upon him and gripped him, he would dig a hole on the ground and insert his manhood into the hole just to satisfy the urge.

I have also heard and read about some women who claimed that they do not get satisfied or any sexual pleasure with their husbands or sex partners, so they indulge in masturbation to satisfy themselves.

The Dictionary defines masturbation as ‘selfabuse! The long and short of the matter is that the habit of masturbation will turn you to a non achiever in life; it will be hard for you to rise.

There will be unnexplainable stagnancy, failure at the edge of breakthrough. You will be confused and confined to the foot of the ladder of progress and success.

Masturbation is a habit you must brace up and fight with the last drop of your blood, if you must reach your potentials and attain your God ordained destiny authority and power.

WAY OUT OF THE MESS: With sincere decision and resolute determination, you can be free. The steps to follow are:

1. Realize and accept that this habit is bad and not good for you.

2. Let God know that you have this problem and really and truly want to stop it. Let Him know that you want Him to help you.

3. “Come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest…”. The person speaking here is Jesus Christ Himself. There is no problem that He cannot solve with ease. (Matthew 11:28).

There is a saying that”Heaven helps those who help themselves”. This means that you have an important role to play in this matter if indeed you want the yoke and bondage of masturbation to be broken in your life.

So, from now on, you must do the following:

1. Be sensitive and alert to know when that urge is about to creep in and lay hold on you. If you are alone in the room at that point in time, get out of the place and go to where other people are and join them there.

2. If there is no one in your immediate environment or surrounding, take a walk within the neighborhood. Take fresh air and see what is going on around. You will discover that by the time you are back, the urge would have disappeared and died. Do this as often as the urge rears its ugly head until you no longer feel the urge.

3. Engage in activities that require you to move from place to place, e.g. go wash your clothes, cook some food, go shopping, go visiting friends in the neighborhood or wherever.  Simply engage in some positive tasks.

4. Table your problem before Jesus the deliverer. Explain to Him that you want to keep His temple (your body) clean so that both of you can become close friends.

5. Remove materials that can influence you to relapse into the habit again, e.g. pornographic materials, pictures of such type, blue films, and literatures. Avoid anything that will return you back to your vomit like the proverbial dog.

6. Spend more and quality time in prayer and study of the word of God regularly.

7. Go out and preach the word of God and lead others to Jesus Christ your Saviour.

If you follow these steps, you will discover that before long, the habit of masturbation will be a thing of the past in your life. Go and give it a try.

KNOWING THE WORD OF GOD IS MANDATORY FOR EVERY BELIEVER.

“Search the scriptures,” says the Lord Jesus. “For in them ye think ye have eternal life and they are they which testify of me.”

Reading and studying the word of God is a command from the Lord Jesus Christ to us his children and servants.  Failure to do this will amount to disobedience.  Secondly, without giving quality time to reading and studying and meditating on the word of God will leave the believer an ignorant person. A Christian without the knowledge of the word of God will be a powerless Christian.

To be ignorant of the word of God will make a believer a man or woman living under the whims and caprices and at the mercy of his enemies and Satan their father.  Such a believer without the knowledge of the word of God will remain blind, deaf and dumb and will not be able to tackle even the smallest spiritual challenge.

It would have been better for such a person not to be have born at all than to come into this world of wickedness and live without the knowledge of the word of God which holds the key to whatever he or she has come to this earth to be or achieve.

Majority of the people who die prematurely or suddenly die for their lack of the knowledge and understanding of the word of God.  A little knowledge of the word of God, will save a person from many troubles and dangers.

The Bible is a book of knowledge.  It is a book of wisdom.  It is a book of power.  It is the book of books.  Several books ever written by man have their foundations from the words got through the study of the Bible – the word of God.

Nobody can confidently call himself a true Christian or believer who has not made the Bible his number one book.  No one can truly call himself a true Christian who has not made the Bible his number one companion.

The big question is, how could one call himself a child of God and yet he does not know what his father says?  He doesn’t know the dos and donts of his father.

Before the Lord Jesus Christ gave the commandment for us to search the scriptures, God Himself had commanded and said: “…these words which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.  And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.  And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house and on thy gates”.

From what God commanded here, we can see that God holds his word very highly.  He commands us to even bind it as a sign upon our hands, paste it on our gates and we should make it as frontlets upon our eyes.

Knowledge of the word of God is very important and necessary for every Christian believer.  And if you want to be a true child of God, you must make it a habit to study the word of God; not just reading it, or flipping through the pages of the Bible with no particular goal.

We know and understand God the more as we study the Bible.  Through the study of the Bible, we discover many people who served and walked with God in their own days and how they walked with Him.

For example, how did David relate with God during his days; from the time he was just a shepherd boy through to his time as the king of Judah and later the whole of Israel?  What were the things that David did that made God to call him a man after His own heart?  How did David show his love for God?  What were the things David did and God was pleased with him?  Were there occasions when David caused a conflict between himself and God?  How did God react during those conflicts?  What were the strengths we can find in David which we can imbibe in our own relationship with God today?  What were the flaws or weaknesses David exhibited which we must avoid as we walk with God today? By giving quality time to study the Bible, we would be able to discover these things and they will help us grow in our walk with God and we will be able to please Him better.

How much do you know about the man Nehemiah?  Have you heard that name from the Bible before?  One of the books in the Bible; in the Old testament is named after him.  What were the things he did as a servant of God?  What can we learn from the life of Nehemiah and how he walked with God?

How about his contemporary; Ezra?  They were all carried into captivity together during the reigns of kings Nebuchadnezzar, Cyrus, Darius and Ahasuerus of Babylon, Medes and Persia.

This man Ezra was both a Priest and a Scribe or Writer.  The books of Ezra and Nehemiah in the Bible were said to have been written by him.  He played a great role in the returning of the captivity from Babylon and he made it his duty to bring reform back to Israel.  Ezra knew the law of the Lord his God and ensured he taught the Israelites those laws of God and turned their hearts back to the Lord their God.  Find out what you can learn from this great servant of God.

If you can give quality time to the study of the word of God, you will discover many people who served God in their time and how they served Him.  What were their impact and achievements?  Find out.  What can you learn?

We all have heard about the man Moses.  What do you know about this great man of God? Are you aware he was born right here and trained in Africa? Did you know that he was being groomed to become one of the greatest kings of the then world?  But he opted out and chose to go with the chosen people of the God of heaven? Why did he do that?  Find out from the Bible.

Why did God forbid Moses to enter the promised land, in spite of all he suffered in the wilderness leading the children of Israel?  What can we learn in order to avoid God’s anger, putting the case Moses in perspective as we serve God and walk with Him in this side of the divide?

Discover why all the people who left Egypt, including the great man, Moses died in the wilderness and missed the promised land, leaving only Joshua and Caleb.  This searching of the scriptures will help you and me learn more about God and what He requires of us. And by looking at what hindered the people who died in the wilderness and failed to make it to the promised land, we will be in a good position to learn how to serve God the better and eventually making the Rapture when it comes.

There is no better way of knowing God and how to serve Him faithfully than giving quality time and attention to the study of the word of God.

Did you know that Jesus Himself, was a scholar of the word of God and He knew the laws of God whereby it was recorded of Him that: “…after three days, they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them and asking them questions.  And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers…”

This was the Lord Jesus Christ Himself at the age of twelve.  The Bible says that he was sitting among the doctors (of the law of God), both hearing them and asking them questions.  Questions on what?  On the words of God and about His laws of course.

So, if Jesus, the Lord, the Author Himself, could seek to know the words of God, how much much more should you and I seek to know the word of God?

How many times, for example, do you study the Bible in a week?  Let us see what Apostle Paul said to Timothy, the servant of God: he counselled Timothy to, “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth”.

Here Paul the Apostle was counselling young minister, Timothy to study the word of God to show himself approved unto God.  That means that the more we study the Bible, the word of God, we are preparing ourselves to become God’s favourites.  Don’t forget too, that your knowledge of the word of God will indeed make you powerful against your worst enemy.  The word of God itself is power.

Hear what is said about this word I want you to study, how the word of God is described: “For the word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart”.

Have you seen a sharp knife or cutlass before? Have you seen any sharp objects before?  Well, the word of God is sharper than they all. That is what you should stuff into yourself.  Then think of what you will become when you feed on the word of God.  You will become hot and sharp and your enemy will think twice before trying to harm you.

All what we have discussed so far, none of them can be attained without the true knowledge of the word of God.

How can you know the mind of God, if you fail to study the Bible, the word of God thoroughly?  You cannot even know your rights as a child of God if you do not have the knowledge of and continue to search through the pages of the Bible.

What are the promises God has made to His children, concerning their entire life? How can you know these promises of God concerning your life?  There is no other way, except through studying and thoroughly searching through the pages of the Bible; the word of God.

It is a very dangerous attitude to neglect the study of the word of God.  It is a dangerous attitude because your ability to live a victorious Christian life depends on the level of your knowledge of the word of God.

I want us to understand that even Satan your archenemy uses the word of God to institute litigations against you.  The Devil is known as the accuse of the brethren.  Why? Because he checks out the life of a child of God to discover your faults.  He monitors your activities and how you serve God in order to discover loopholes he can take to God  to accuse  you of unfaithfulness, laziness, carelessness and lack of commitment to God, Who you claim to serve.

You might begin to ask how would the Devil be able to see and monitor you all the time since he is not omnipresent and as such does not have the capability to be present everywhere at the same time like our God. Neither is he omniscient as he does not have the capability to know all things like our God.  But how does he get to know your activities and shortcomings?

Well, the Devil has a myriad of fallen angels and demons that serve and work for him. Don’t forget too that among his army of servants are the human agents like the witchcraft and occultic forces and other agents that cannot be mentioned here.

These are assigned to the children of God to manipulate them to go against the will of God so that he would use  it to nail them.  The Devil himself is a great manipulator.  He manipulates your minds, your hearts, your flesh, your behaviour, your feeling and body chemistry.  He manipulates all sorts of anti-God behaviours against the believers to the extent that, many spend their entire lives doing the will of the Devil, not realizing that they are actually dancing to the tune of the music Satan plays for them.

How will you be able to counter the Devil’s manipulative devices without your knowledge of the word of God?  You must know the word of God to use against Satan, his demons and the witchcraft forces.

The Devil is the one who will programme laziness and lethargy in the study of the word of God through his agents and he is still the same person who will run to God and report and accuse you of not having interest in the study of the word of God.

If there is anything you and I must do every day of our lives as believers, it is the study of the word of God.  We must study the word of God.  We must study the word of truth.  We must study this word of wisdom.  We must study this word of power.  We must study the Bible to discover the the power of the believer – the power of the believer resides in the word of God.

PROMOTION COMES AFTER TRIALS, TEMPTATIONS AND TRIBULATIONS.

If you can stay with God and not fear or be discouraged.  If you can remain strong and not to panic bearing in mind that your God is with you as you stay with him, I can assure you, you will laugh loud and long at the end.

God rescued Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, but not until they were cast into the burning fiery furnace heated seven time more than it was wont to be.  God did not stop Nebuchadnezzar from making the fire as hot as he wished.  God did not stop Nebuchadnezzar’s most mighty men from binding the three Hebrew boys.  He did not stop them from throwing them into the fire. God always allows the proud and wicked ones to do their worst before showing up.

Our God loves to be taken by His words because He does whatever He says He would do.  Remember what He said in the book of Isaiah: He said that when you are cast into the fire by your enemy, it will not burn you.  You will just pass through it and come out unscathed, because He will get into the fire with you and bring you out of it unhurt.

Do you believe that God can do this for you?  You’d better believe it, because it shall be done by Him.  He said it; He will do it.

For Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, it was literal, real fire.  They were thrown into the fire as villains, but they came out of it as heroes; heroes of the Lord and champions over the burning fiery furnace.

Theirs were literal fire, but the one you are passing through now, the experience you are passing through now can be likened to fire.  Whatever it may be, remember you are not alone.  Your God will make a way for you to come out of it triumphantly.  Don’t fear.

In the case of these three Hebrew boys, King Nebuchadnezzar was overwhelmed by astonishment following his observation that four men were actually discussing and walking about inside the burning fiery furnace.  It was a great novel; a thing unprecedented, unheard of hitherto.

In perplexity, awe and wonder, he moved nearer to the mouth of the burning fire and called Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego to come out of the fire and come to him.  The three men came out.  It was a humbling experience for the powerful, proud, arrogant and cocky king.

Remember that this godless, idolatrous king had arrogantly threatened the three Hebrew boys “…but if you worship not (his golden image and gods), ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who is that God that shall deliver you out of my hands?”

Did Nebuchadnezzar discover that God?  Hear his submissive and humble statement when he discovered what God could do: “… Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, ye servants of the most high God come forth…”

King Nebuchadnezzar discovered and without doubt, concurred that there is a God that is “The Most High God”.  He discovered, concurred and submitted and then made a decree and declared: “… Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, who hath sent his angel and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king’s word and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god; except their own God.  Therefore I make a decree, That every people, nation and language, which speak anything amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill; because there is no other God that can deliver after this sort. And the King PROMOTED Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in the province of Babylon.

Can you just ponder a little over what happened here?  At the end of the “EXECUTION” of the three Hebrew boys, and the execution was overruled and rendered nul and void by the Supreme power of God, king Nebuchadnezzar repented and PROMOTED Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. Hallelujah!

In your own case, God will do great things in your life and situation that will make those your oppressors to repent and join you to worship your wonder working God.

In the same way, King Darius of Persia called out Daniel from the den of lions when he saw the awesome power of God to deliver those who trust in him.  After bringing out Daniel from the midst of the hungry lions, the king Darius ordered those who conspired against Daniel to drink the same bitter pill of their wicked conspiracy.  They were cast into the same lions den.

Their own was worse because, not only were they themselves cast into the den of lions; their wives and children too were cast there as well.  The Bible records that the lions made minced meat of them.  They were devoured and eaten on the spot by the hungry lions.

The law of divine boomerang took its course on them, as the Bible says it should be: “…Behold he travaileth with iniquity, and hath conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood. He made a pit and digged it, and is fallen into the ditch which he made.  His mischief shall return upon his own head and his violent dealing shall come down upon his own pate”.

Those conspirators paid for their conspiracy with their lives, while the ones they conspired against came out unhurt and were promoted I stead of death.

I encourage you to stick with God and don’t despair.  You will laugh last.  Whether it is a certain nassisssist that is harassing you whether in your home or place of work, tormenting and making life miserable for you, maintain your peace and be calm.  You will laugh loud and long at them them in the end.

After rain comes sunshine.  No condition is permanent.  Your challenges will come to an end and your promotion will come.  Only remain unshakeable and immoveable with your God.  He has not forgotten you and will never forget you.

Thank you for staying till the end. Kindly like, share, subscribe and drop your comments. Thank you and God bless you.

Standing with Jesus Christ, no matter what.

Zig Ziglar, one of the greatest speakers on human resource management topics speaking on the issue of the ability to look beyond failure and rising from it and moving forward, said: “The next time you encounter a difficult situation or obstacle or problem, you should just smile and say, ‘Here is my chance to grow,'”.

Another inspirational speaker also admonished: “Be cheerful. Don’t burden or depress those around you by dwelling on your minor aches and pains and small disappointments.  Remember that everyone is carrying some kind of loads.

One may fail in one thing or the other, but that certainly isn’t going to be the end of one’s life.  Yes, it is true failure brings depression. Failure brings frustration.  Failure brings disappointment.  In fact, there is nothing good in failure.  No one wishes to fail in any venture in life. Success is what everyone craves, desires and pursues.  No one Pursues failure as one does success.

The truth, however, is that everyone who aspires for success, more often than not gets to a stage where failure becomes inevitable.

Someone said, “It is not the number of times that I fail that matters, but the number of times that I rise from failure”.

It is true that success is the brother, sister, mother, father and friend of everyone.  But failure is an orphan. Failure is a lone ranger.  Failure has no relation.  Failure is always lonely because no one loves or wants to associate with it.

One fact we must all hold fast, is that no one is failure proof.  All we all need is the courage to face our failure if and when it comes with the spirit of perseverance and the attitude of “I can”, then we will surely turn our failure to good success.

Success does not come suddenly or without set backs.  As human beings and Christian believers, one must not submit to the life of failure.  We must look beyond our failures and focus more on our dreams and aspirations then work hard, going the extra mile to achieve them.  And we will.

Failure is a situation that happens so that we can learn the right and better way to do things.  Failure is part of a learning process and not the end of our life.  We are supposed to learn from our failure in order to succeed eventually and not to be discouraged and then call it quits.

The Bible says: “If you quit in the days of adversity, your strength is small”.  Adversity is a training ground; the harder the training, the more effective and experienced you become.  Success will smile at the man who refuses to lie down at the corridor of failure.

Someone said: “Failure comes to us all.  No matter how hard we try, sometimes things will go wrong.  Success is usually gained through long striving”.

We are called to be brave and courageous.  Let the ugly situation know that you cannot be deterred.  Abandoning your dream and vision is exactly what your adversary; your true enemy, Satan wants.  He will be very happy if you turn away from your walk with God and return to the things you left behind; he will be happy.  But if you stand firm and dust yourself and shake off the dust of your failure from your body, and march forward pursuing the same heavenly goal and vision unperturbed, the Devil will feel intimidated.  He will feel insulted.  He will feel defeated.  He cannot face God because he has failed in his bid to stop you and separate you from Him.

At this stage, don’t ever relent.  Continue to charge yourself and your spirit man with the fire and power of prayer and remain in the presence and power of God every moment of every day.

What makes failure and suffering in the life of a believer to linger unnecessarily, sometimes, is when he becomes careless in victory or careless in the time of trouble.  When failure comes, the only person we should and could consult for help is none other than God Almighty.  Running here and there and putting your hope and desire on man, will result in more failure and disappointments.

Any time you are confronted with difficulties and problems of any sort, and you remember that it is only God, your heavenly Father that can bring solution to your problem, that alone is your first step to deliverance and victory.

Don’t forget that your friends, both real and fake will come to counsel and suggest one thing or the other to you to do.  Be wise.  Consult God.  Present every advice and suggestions of your friends to God to prove and discover their genuineness.

Satan and his agents can transform themselves into angels of light, to appear as true friends and advisors, just to take you into deeper problems.  Be wise. Be discerning. Be watchful.

Put God in every step you take at any given time.  Don’t panic when trouble comes.  If you are a true friend of God, be assured that before that problem started to manifest, God had already solved it in the spirit realm.  You will only use your power of prayer to receive and call the solution to manifestation.

But and, if you begin to panic, crying up and down and running helter skelter, evil counsellors will creep in and compound your problem, making a mountain out of a mole hill your problem was before.  Be wise.

I will refer to the case of Job once again. Let us see what one of his counsellors advised him to do when he was deep into his adversities: “Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity?  Curse God and die”.

Who was counselling Job here to curse God and die?  You know who.  This was supposed to be his closest companion and confidant.  But look at the type of counsel she gave to her husband.

Yes, Job lost ten children, didn’t he?  Now, who was the mother of those children that Satan slaughtered in one day?  Was it not this same Job’s wife?  In other words, she too lost ten children.  Why then should it be Job, her husband who should curse God and die while she herself had not done so and died first?  Evil counsellors will always counsel you to do what they themselves will not dare to try.

Thank God for men like Job.  Men who do not look at their problems but would rather look unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of their faith.  Men and women who will always look beyond the darkness of this earth into the brightness of heaven. Such people will never end in failures.

What did Job say to his wife on her counsel?  Job said: “But he (Job), said unto her (his wife), Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh.  What?”(!) Job rebuffed his wife’s counsel and called it foolish talk.  Thank God for this man.

Do you know that many wives have misled their husbands through self pity and rebellious counsels?  Yes, several women have made their husbands the enemies of God.  Whoever is opportune to read this piece should be wise and always weigh the type of advice they entertain, even from their closest friends.

Ahab was recorded as an evil king in Israel, but it was majorly because of the bad influence of Jezebel his wife.

Ahab coveted the vineyard of Naboth but could not get it because Naboth refused to let him have it.  Ahab was disappointed and went home brooding and sulking in despair and disappointment and would not eat his food.  But when Jezebel found out why her husband was sad, she said to him:   “…Arise and eat bread(food) and let thine heart be merry: I will give thee the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite”.

So, by evil counsel, conspiracy, lying and murder, she snatched the vineyard from Naboth and handed it over to her husband, king Ahab.

Some women nag their husbands so much and hard and by so doing they push them into doing what they ordinarily or otherwise would not have done.  Many women crave prosperity and riches of this world at all costs; i.e. no matter how they come.  They push their husbands into looking for wealth and riches from Strange places and into doing many strange and abominable things just to get wealth and riches.  Thereby many women have diverted their husbands’ destinies and made them passengers heading to hell fire in a chariot driven by Satan, just because they want to be like others.

I am not talking about all women. There are thousands and thousands of godly and fantastic women.  Women who are the pillars that keep their husbands on their feet.  These are the true and faithful daughters and servants of God Almighty.  They are the true and faithful lovers and friends of their husbands.  They are not the ones I am talking about here.  I myself am equally a woman.  But I am speaking the truth; what I have seen with my eyes.  So, except these men watch it, many will go to hell; not because of what they did by themselves, but like Ahab, much more because of what they allowed their wives to rope them into.

Challenges are meant to draw us closer to God as I have said earlier.  The wisest thing to do in times of trouble is to go to God and pour out your heart to Him in prayer and sometimes, together with fasting.

Some Christian believers, sometimes, instead of laying their complaints to God, go about reporting God to their friends and relations and whoever else cares to listen to them, how God has disappointed them, and how He has done this and or that to them.  They report God all over the place.

Many backslide in the process and go straight to the camp of the enemy to seek for help.  They cannot bear a little discomfort for God’s glory.  No, all they want is a life of comfort all round.  Life will just be one hell of bore, if everything we know and experience in this world of sin is comfort, comfort and comfort with no form of challenges.

If any one deserved to live a comfortable glorious life devoid of challenges, trials and temptations, that person is Jesus Christ Himself.  But no!  At a certain stage of His life, He had to cry out in pain and agony and said rhetorically: “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?”  Which meant “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?”  That was Jesus Christ the Son of God Himself!

That was at the peak of his suffering on the cross at Calvary, where he was paying the price for our sins; the ultimate price of death with his life.  But for us to possess this salvation and victory which he died for on our behalf, we want to do it on the bed of comfort.  No, it doesn’t work that way.

Jesus Christ suffered shame, nakedness, being spat upon, ridicule, slander, betrayal, pain and torture to pay the price for our salvation and reconciliation with our heavenly Father, God Almighty.  But many a times, we fail the One who had suffered all these agonies for us by our irrational actions, decisions, words, unfaithfulness, unnecessary complaints, murmurings and ingratitude.  We fail him every time.

Can’t we suffer a little discomfort for our dear Lord Jesus Christ?  Because we can be denied our legitimate rights simply because we belong to him.  Yes.  Should we deny him so that we can get our legitimate rights?  No, we should even count ourselves lucky and blessed to suffer for Christ our dear Lord, Saviour and Friend.  It is all about staying and remaining faithful to Christ, no matter what.

The God of the Christian believer can never come late for our rescue when in trouble.  Can we forget the stories about the four Hebrew boys – Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego? Anyone who has not read about them, should set a good time apart for that purpose.  They are written for our learning and encouragement.

We need to learn and understand the way of God and how we can walk with Him.  The God I am talking about here is not restricted or limited by time.  Time is in His power and under his control. The Bible records in 2 Peter 3:8 “But beloved be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the LORD as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day.” Another portion says “For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past and as a watch in the night”.

All these are telling us that God is not restricted or limited by time. He has the capability to act now-now and give us our hearts desires, and he has the power to suspend it till twenty, thirty or forty years, according to his own divine programme and agenda.  Ours is to understand God’s methods and submit and wait patiently for His perfect will to take its course in our lives and situations.

If you force God what you will get is is what is called “permissive will” and whatever you see in it is your own  look out, it’s your own cup of tea.  God’s time is still the best till tomorrow.  We must learn to wait for His time and will to be perfected in our life.

Talking about the four Hebrew boys.  It is obvious that they would have wanted God’s immediate intervention to deliver them from the destruction looming against them from the powers that be at that time.  But did God come?  Did they see any sign to show them that God was on their side at that time of great challenge?

Some people had conspired and got the king Darius to sign a decree against Daniel to stop him from saying his prayers.  They didn’t want him to pray to God for thirty days otherwise, he would be cast into the Lions’ den.

The offense of Daniel was that he was righteous and prayed often to God. So when they caught him praying, they took his case to the king and he was cast into the Lions’ den.  Daniel might have expected God to stop them from carrying out that judgment but God did not show up.  Why?

The same played out when Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were to be cast into the burning fiery furnace of king Nebuchadnezzar.  God did not show up.  He did not stop the wicked from doing their worst.  He waited for them to do their very worst.  But one thing was clear; Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego didn’t change their minds when God did not show up.  They stood their ground to remain resolute with their faith in God, no matter what.

But we know the outcome in the end.  The lions could not touch Daniel.  The way he was when he was thrown into the midst of the hungry lions was the same way he came out.  The lions could not touch him.

The same was the case with Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego.  God waited for them to make the fiery furnace seven times hotter than it was wont to be.  Then He allowed them to bind them and throw them into the fire.  All of a sudden, four people were seen inside the fire instead of the three they had thrown in it.  Where did the fourth person come from?

God will let the Devil to display all his power so that He could put him where belongs.  And that was what God did.  He did not allow the lions to touch Daniel.  He also did not  allow the fire of Nebuchadnezzar to touch Daniel’s friends, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego.

The only way we can see the faithfulness and wonders of God in our lives and situations is by keeping on trusting in Him no matter what.

As The Gold Passes Through Fire, So Shall Every True Believer Be Tried By Fire To Be Fit For Heaven.

Without passing through persecution, temptation, tribulations, adversities, poverty and discouragement, it will be difficult for any true believer to really make it ultimately to heaven.

The reason for this is because the road that leads to heaven is filled with all the aforementioned experiences and even more.  It is through these experiences that we are purged and refined to come out like the gold, the very quality and standard that God will want us to attain in order to qualify for heaven.

Many of us have read about and or heard of Job’s trials when the enemy visited him with all sorts of calamities.  He said, in the scorching heat of his pain and grief,”… when he (God) had tried me, I shall come forth as gold”.

This man lost all his children (10 of them) in one day.  As if that was not tragic enough, he lost all his wealth, and businesses one after the other in quick succession.

A man who was swimming in opulence up till a few hours before, all of a sudden lost everything and became very very poor and wretched just like that.

Not only that, he also lost his health.  He became very sick with a very strange sickness, to the point of death.  But it all started when Satan was, in his usual manner, walking to and fro: up and down the face of the earth (of course looking for whom to devour.

God spoke to him and said: “Whence comest thou?”. That was when the sons of God, (obviously, God’s angels) came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them” .  Of course, intruding upon them.

He told God, in response to God’s question and said: “… From going to and fro in the earth and from walking up and down in it”.  This was Satan’s reply.  But don’t forget that he intruded into the gathering of the “sons of God” when they came to present themselves to God.

Then God said to him, “…Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God and escheweth evil?”

From these verses, we can see that it was God who started the dialogue with Satan. God actually boasted about Job to Satan and that Job was upright and there was no man like him in the earth, in uprightness.

To my own understanding or inference, the time for God to test Job had come and he needed to prove him.  I mean to prove job’s commitment to God.

Then Satan replied God and said “Doth Job fear God for nought? Hast not thou made a hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side?  thou hast hast blessed the work of his hands and his substance is increased on the land.  But put forth thine hand now and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face”.

And the Lord said unto Satan, behold all that he hath is in thy power, only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So, Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord”.

That marked the beginning of Job’s tribulation and adversities.  He didn’t know what had transpired between God and Satan behind the scene.  He only began to notice strange and calamitous occurrences on his life all of a sudden.

What transpired between God and Satan behind the scene was not known to Job.  As Satan moved in and took over Job’s house and began to unleash terror and turn things upside down, God too withdrew his protection and presence from him. So Job was left at the mercy of Satan.

All the lamentations and prayers that Job made to God were as if God was no more on his throne, because his case and situation kept getting worse and worse instead.  But, he stayed put with God in spite of his ugly experiences and situation.  At a point even in the heat of his tribulation and adverse condition, he declared right to the face of Satan, “…I know that my redeemer liveth…”  A statement of faith to encourage himself.

Now let us take a closer look at the transaction that went on between God and Satan.  God said to Satan: “Have you considered my servant Job?  He is upright and does no evil!”.

And Satan said, “O yeah?! You just give me the permission to go and deal with him, and you will see how he will turn away from you and curse you to your face.  He is only faithful to you because you have blessed him on every side.  Take away all the good things you are doing for him now and see how he will deny you”.  God said to him: “Go ahead!” (Paraphrased).

All that Satan needed was God’s permission which he got and moved into operation immediately.

My dear Christian believer, do you know that God still does the same thing about us you today as he tries our faith and trust in Him? You’d better believe it, He still does.

Job suffered all sorts of pains in the hands of Satan, yet he never uttered any bad or negative words of unbelief against God.  He maintained his integrity and faith in Him.

When Satan had done all within his power against Job and had no other thing to do; neither did Job shift ground on his stand with God, Satan was put to shame.

God who is ever faithful, then came to his rescue and turned his situation around.  God restored double all his lost possessions and days; wasted by Satan.  In addition, God gave him ten brand new children, seven males and two females, and then added 140 years to Job for him to live and enjoy his wealth, prosperity and new life.

My beloved Christian believers, this God has not changed; he is still the same and does the same even in this our present times.  He has not and will never change.  What he did to compensate Job after trials and tribulations he will still do to all who will stick to him through thick and thin.

For the period of over thirty years that I have walked closely with him, I can tell without mincing words, that I have proved him very very faithful to whoever remains with him without fearing or doubting anything.  God is ever faithful and ever sure.

The problem many Christian believers have is impatience and self pity.  They are in a hurry to jump out of challenges and problems.  They find it hard to endure a little and allow God to purge and refine them to become like gold.  They are not ready and willing to give God a chance in their lives

You cannot wake up and become like Apostle Peter.  You cannot wake up and become like Apostle John.  You cannot wake up and become like Apostle Paul.  No, you have a price to pay.  You must offer yourself “a sacrifice acceptable to God”.

There is one thing that can make you to come to know God more and better, that thing is the trial of your faith. It is at this time, the time of painful trials and tribulations that will begin to know God more and clearly hear from Him.

Take note, it is at such a time that God will begin to show and reveal to you the blue print of your life.  It is at such a time that God will begin to show you the secrets of your life.  It is at such a time that God will begin to open your spiritual eye and ears.  It is at such a time that God will begin to endue you with power, knowledge, understanding and divine wisdom. It is at such a time that you will learn how to apply your spiritual authority and dominion over contrary situations.

In fact, there are many mysteries that God will open to you at such times.  Trials and tribulations are tools in the hand of God to make a powerful invincible champion out of you.

The Christian believers who can get to this level are only those who can persevere.  It is those who can endure hardness.  It is those who can remain determined to push on.  It is those who will decide not to look at their ugly situations but rather to continue to look unto Jesus.  It is those Christian believers who will choose to talk more to God and less to man.  It is those Christian believers who will maintain positive outlook and confession and shun all the suggestions of Satan and his messengers.

There are many things a Christian believer will learn during this difficult time.  It is at such a time that you will begin to identify the way God speaks to you.  And it is important that every Christian believer learns this aspect of his relationship with God early enough and expect to hear from Him because He will always speak. Trust me.

Impatient believes will claim that God did not answer their prayers.  If you try a little to understand God, you will discover that He answers prayers.  His answer can be positive or negative.  It can also come in the form of asking you to wait patiently and continue praying.  His answer to our prayers can come in any form.  In any case, He answers our prayers.  It is our responsibility to understand or decode what He is telling us.

For instance, you may be too eager or desperate to get something and, though that thing you desire is quite legitimate, yet God may ask you to hold on a little more or even forget about it.  What ever God says or does is what we must take .  He knows better and is wiser than you and I are.  I am telling you from personal experiences that  whatever God does to you is for your own good and is a sign of His deep love for you.  It may be difficult for you to understand, God knows the end from the beginning, so He may deny you what you think you rightly deserve because you may end up regretting later.  He knows already how it will end but you don’t knock.  You are only looking at what you might enjoy temporarily.  You are just a man with limited knowledge and understanding but God is the Omniscient God.

Do your best to understand the pattern of God’s communication with you.  You will surely begin to enjoy your relationship and walk with Him, your heavenly Father.

I personally have proved that nothing can be more pleasant, gratifying and sweeter on earth and in a believer’s life than an intimate relationship with God.  He is real indeed.

Come closer to God. Speak more often with Him.  Study His word, meditate on it and do what it teaches. Put the will of God above all else.  Put your own will under the will of God and always do His own rather than yours.  Do all to please rather than self and man in everything.  Talk more to God than you talk to man.

Stand for and defend His word and His name at all times and in all things.  Preach His word and teach it.  Find out your area of calling and get into God’s business.

Love God and demonstrate this love by totally depending on Him.  He knows your capabilities and your weaknesses.  Be clean and pure inside and outside.  God is holy and does not compromise His holy nature.  If you will be His beloved child, holiness must become your way of life.  Your heart must be pure at all times.

If your heart is filled with evil and unclean thoughts, it will be difficult for you to be intimate with God.  You cannot harbour immoral thoughts in your heart and still expect God to be close to you.  You cannot harbour hatred, jealousy, envy, resentment and such negative things in your heart and feel free before God at the same time.  As a matter of fact, these are some of the attributes of a person who has not even been born again or who is yet to receive the new birth.  So, such should not be once mentioned among you that have become saints.

Finally, I want to summarize by declaring that no true Christian believer should avoid or run away from temptations, trials and tribulations including persecutions.

I will round off by bringing in these inspiring quotes for our encouragement and learning:

“Rainbows are beautiful, but it takes both rain and sunshine to create one.  It’s the same thing with life.  In most lives, there are dark and bright spots; there is joy and sorrow.  The few people who have never known adversity invariably don’t have lives that are as rich and satisfying as those who have.

If you can handle it, adversity makes you stronger.  It makes you a kinder and more empathetic person.  At the end of a life without adversity, it’s hard to find a rainbow.  We cannot control the tragic things that happen to us, but we can control the way we face up to them”.

The Mistery Of The Lizard

The next animal we are going to look at is the lizard. There are much to the lizards you come across every day than you might think you know. This video is going to expose some important facts about the lizard to you. I want you to patiently read to the end because there are lessons there for you. Your comments as you read are highly welcome.

Many pastors in Africa in particular, will quickly tell whoever cares to listen that the lizard is a symbol of fear and the spirit of madness or insanity. This may be true, but is that all there is about this reptile? Of course, no is the resounding answer.

There are a lot more things you need to know about this animal. The enemy of your soul, i.e. the witches and wizards have many evil things they can do to you by the use of the lizard and you may not know or trace that problem to the seeming harmless lizard.

Let’s look at some of them.

Stiff Blockage Against Your Progress: If you are walking along the road, street, track or even within the compound of your house or somewhere else and you see a lizard suddenly run across you from one side of the road to the other side, what does it mean or signify spiritually? That lizard (whatever the type and size does not matter), is simply telling you that wherever it is that you are going to that day and thenceforth will result only in frustration; you will not succeed.

Simply put. If you are ignorant of the type of attack that your adversary has used that lizard to carry out against you, frustration, disappointment and failure will begin to trail you everywhere you go. And that lizard will be monitoring you about. This ugly experience will result if you go ahead to pass through that spot where the lizard passed.

If you are observant enough, you will notice that from that day you had that strange encounter with that lizard, anywhere you go for any form of business; pursuit of contact, job interview or whatever would do you any form of good or bring you a resounding breakthrough and success, the first thing you would see as you arrive at your destination is that lizard.

It will position itself where you will surely see it. When this happens, anything you have gone out to do in that place that day will result in disappointment. Please take this rare and important information seriously; don’t joke with it.

That lizard will be used to manipulate your benefactors and helpers against you. If someone, for example, had promised you some favour, by seeing this lizard in that place of promise, you will witness promise failed.

But do you know what, the person who programmed that lizard to be trailing you about will be the one prospering while you will be retrogressing and suffering.

Remember that this negative occurrence will come into effect if after seeing the double crossing of that lizard, you still go ahead and pass through the same place. They have used the operation of the lizard to enforce the arrow of satanic embargo on your progress and success.

So, whenever you notice any lizard behaving in a strange way against you, rebuke the spirit behind it and cancel the operation before going ahead.

The Lizard Inflicts One With Affliction. Another thing that the lizard is used to do against someone is to inflict one with all forms of affliction. Apart from blocking good things from coming your way, you would also notice that once you pass that spot where the lizard had crossed, you will begin to feel excruciating pains in your joints.

You will start feeling as if the bones in your groins, especially are rotten or rusted like rusted iron or metal, to the extent that you may not be able to stand up easily and walk. And if you managed to stand, you will find it difficult to bend, sit or lie down.

If it is your knee joints, the situation is the same. You won’t be able to bend to pick up something or sit down and if you managed to bend, to stand up again would be another round of grinding and gnashing of teeth because of the unbearable excruciating and torturing pain.

Many people scream and shout arthritis, rheumatism, etc and rush to the doctors spending money on the wrong thing because of ignorance. The more they treat the wrong thing, the worse their case becomes, with some ugly swellings around the ailing areas.

No, it is not arthritis nor rheumatism. It is a calculated witchcraft sinister attack; a spiritual attack. It is an attack on the vehicle of your destiny. It is an attack aimed at stopping your progress and advancement in life.

Or, is it not those legs that you will want to make use of to go for your daily labour in order to earn a decent living? Is it not those legs that will carry you to your place of breakthrough, progress and blessings?

But you cannot go anywhere now because those legs are swollen and excruciatingly paining you, so much so that you can’t even stand up and walk. Sometimes, the feet are equally swollen and can’t enter the shoes.

So, while you are waiting at home for the pain and swelling to stop and heal, the opportunities for your advancement come and pass you by. Another person takes them. That person who claims the opportunity meant for you could be none other than your adversary; the person behind the lizard attack.

They will transfer your opportunities to themselves spiritually. You might even see them in the Satanic transaction in your dream, and if you could not understand or interpret what your dream is revealing to you, they will succeed and you will be the loser.

If God opens your eye and you could see yourself in the spiritual realm, you will notice that you are already deformed spiritually. A deformed person cannot make progress in the physical realm. It is a spiritual attack on the wheel of your progress and advancement.

Don’t treat arthritis caused by diabolical operation with orthodox medication; it will not work. Employ the weapon of spiritual warfare which is acidic warfare prayers. That is what will destroy that arrow of poverty fired into your legs by your enemy to paralyse and incapacitate you. You must rise up violently against your enemy by the use of hot warfare prayers.

Lizards Can be Used to Cause Insanity

Witches and wizards use the lizard to cause sudden insanity or madness on their victim. Many people who suddenly lost their sanity can have it back if the appropriate prayers are said on them. Sometimes, during such prayers, the lizard may jump out of the person physically or spiritually and the person will recover his sanity instantly.

Lizards Can be Used to manipulate one’s Glory.

Witchcraft powers use the lizard to manipulate the glory and virtue of people. Whenever you are in a place; classroom, office, your room etc and all of a sudden for unknown reason, you start feeling uncomfortable itching or pin-like pains on your head, just look around on the walls, doors, windows, etc you may likely see a lizard.

Don’t be deceived if the lizard you see is the tiniest type, they operate the same way and as deadly. If you see any, please do your best to kill it. If you succeed in killing it, it will spell doom for the witch or wizard using it. That evil person may likely die or become so sick that survival could be very difficult.

Lizards are used to cause Heart Attack and Sudden Death

Witches and wizards can use the lizard to fire arrow of sudden death through heart attack at a person. This one is a special and subtle attack. They may programme that lizard I to another animal and send it to their target. They could send it in the form of a centipede. You know how deadly the centipede can be. They will allow you to see it because they expect you to kill it without wasting time. But the moment you kill it, the arrow will go into your body and move to you heart region.

You may not realise immediately that you have received a deadly arrow. It will dematerialize spiritually and disappear into your heart region. You may not realise what has happened because you could still see the killed centipede lying there. But no.

The arrow of sudden death has found its way into your body system ready to do devastating damage. Please take note of this secret. Don’t joke with it.

But after a few hours, you will begin to notice some pain on the left side of your chest and at your back side as you try to breathe. Before long, you will begin to have real difficulty breathing well, coupled with serious pain on the heart.

I know a sister who had this type of experience. When she realized that it was an arrow, she started praying. But the more she prayed, the more the pain persisted. Then God directed her to go to the church for corporate prayer. During the prayer, God opened her eyes and she saw a dead lizard come out of her. That marked the end of the chest pain and breathing problem.

Tribulation and Believers’ Martyrdom

Paul in one of his writings to the Romans asked “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine or nakedness or peril or sword? …Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present not things to come, nor height nor depth nor any other creature shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord”.

These are the words of a man, a believer who, not only knew that tribulation, distress, persecution, famine (poverty, lack), nakedness, peril, sword, principalities, powers and other troubles would come, but made up his mind that he would stand firm and fight and conquer them if and whenever, wherever and however they come.

That should be our stand too, as many of us as have made the decision to follow Jesus Christ to the end, as true believers. Tribulation and the likes should not take away the love of Christ from our hearts.

A true believer is the one that is content with whatever state he finds himself, good or bad. A true believer should not allow affluence or penury turn him away from Christ.

Many of us often wonder why God allows the true believer to suffer, even to the point of death in their pilgrimage. However, it is good to remind us here that some are appointed to die so, that is why there are many Christian Martyrs. If you will suffer the fate of a martyr, you don’t even know right now. But if along the line and in process of time, it comes the way of any of us, the Lord who has ordained it so, will give such the grace and courage of the martyr to face it gladly. And we will not deny our Lord no matter what.

Did you know that most of the first set of the disciples of Jesus Christ, who were also called apostles died as martyrs?

• Paul the Apostle was led out of the city and beheaded during the reign of Nero, the then Roman Emperor.

• Peter the Apostle was crucified upside down during the reign of the same Emperor Nero.

• Andrew, the brother of Peter was also crucified, but on a transverse cross at Edessa. A transverse cross is like the alphabet “X” in shape.

• The popular disciple, Thomas; he took the gospel to Parthia and India. But he was thrust through with a spear and killed, for the gospel.

• Matthias, the disciple who was used to replace Judas Iscariot, was stoned and then beheaded right there in Jerusalem, by the Jews.

• Jude, the brother of James, commonly called Thaddeus, was crucified at Edessa, just like Andrew.

• Luke, the Physician, who was always with Paul the Apostle in all his missionary journeys, and also the writer of the gospel of Luke and the Acts of the Apostles, was hanged on an Olive Tree in Greece for the gospel.

• Simon, who was called Zelotes, who brought the gospel of Christ to as far as the West African country of Mauritania and Great Britain, was crucified in A.D. 74.

• James the Less was beaten and stoned and had his brain dashed out with a fuller’s club by the Jews. He was 94 years old then.

• Bartholomew, who translated the Gospel of Matthew into India, was martyred in Armenia.

• Philip the Evangelist, who converted the Ethiopian Eunuch, was crucified in A.D. 54 in Heliopolis, Phrygia.

• Mark, in whose name the Book of Mark in the Bible is called, was dragged to pieces by the people of Alexandria at the great solemnity of their God, Serapis.

• James the Great, was beheaded by Herod in Jerusalem.

• Stephen was cast out of the city and stoned to death, you know the story.

• Matthew, also called Levi; the writer of the Gospel of Matthew in the Bible, laboured in Parthia and Ethiopia. He was killed in the city of Nadabah in A.D. 60.

The only one among the first set of disciples of Jesus Christ who died a natural death was John the beloved, one of the two sons of Zebedee. And that was after passing through some horrifying and gruesome tortures, including being thrown into a cauldron (pot) of boiling oil and escaping without any hurt. He was thereafter banished to the Isle of Patmos. That was where he got the revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ and wrote the Book of Revelation in A.D. 96.

These disciples of Jesus Christ faced severe persecutions and tribulations during the satanic reign of the Roman Emperor, Nero.

This Roman Emperor Nero, was so wicked and devilish that he made them to cut his mother open and brought out her womb so that he could see the womb in which he was conceived and from which he had originated.

When Emperor Nero was born, his father who dedicated him to Satan from his mother’s womb, declared that another devil had been born. Of course, he turned out to be a devil indeed.

Let’s look at this word Tribulation again. What does it mean? Tribulation means misery, it means trouble, it means affliction, it means oppression. There is nothing good at all about tribulation. Tribulation brings misery. Misery means wretchedness. It means great disappointment. It means great unhappiness. It means great distress and poverty.

Can you see the meaning of or what tribulation stands for? It is not a pleasant experience and it is not for the faint hearted or “babes” in the gospel of truth, who cannot chew and swallow hard food; people who are still struggling with baby feeding bottles. No, it’s not for such; they need to grow and mature. They can’t bear it otherwise.

Those who can conquer tribulation are the ones who have made their face like a flint and have refused to be troubled by whatever comes their way, good or bad. They don’t see the trouble that confronts them as the end of their life. They believe that God will always make a way of escape for them. They are the ones who will never run ahead of God.

This Christian tribulation can manifest itself in a believer’s life in many forms. It can come as a sudden collapse of one’s business; the business just goes down all of a sudden without any warning and plunges the family into poverty. A family that was happy and had all things going well for them, only to suddenly become poor with no food to put on the table. This is tribulation.

This family tries all it could to come back to the glory days to no avail. Instead, things get worse. Then the  mother of the home runs away with another man. All other family members leave the good man of the house and abandon him. All friends and relations distance themselves from him, leaving him to die in poverty or look for other alternative means outside Christ to solve his problem.

Some have crawled to this level and slipped and returned into oblivion because they lost courage and could not bear the hardship; the poverty, the misery, the shame and the  starvation.

The Lord Jesus Christ said that the one that received the seed into Stony places, the same is he that heareth the word and anon with joy receiveth it; yet hath he not root in himself but endureth for a while for when tribulation and persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.

Being offended means that this believer becomes discouraged to the extent of turning back from the Lord and going back to the world. So, discouragement is an offshoot of tribulation.

By God’s standards, a believer is not supposed to drop the baton or throw in the towel because of tribulation; because of suffering. What a believer is expected to do in time of discouragement is to give the journey a little more push. A little more grit and determination. A little more perseverance. A little more manifestation of faith in God. A little more peep into the Bible for words of encouragement and comfort. A little more peep towards the end of the tunnel. A little more self-assurance that there is still hope, if there is life. A little more drawing closer to God and declaring his unalloyed faith in His faithfulness and ability to turn his situation around. A little more drawing of inspiration from the history of those who had gone through such experiences in the past and survived.

Tribulation is not intended to kill us. It is not supposed to make us turn away from our God. It is not meant to make us become rebellious against God. Rather, tribulation is meant to make us stronger, purer, more refined and mature believers. Above all, if we remain cleaved to our Saviour and Master Jesus Christ, God will be pleased with us.

Before I round off, let me point out this fact to us.  Did you know that sometimes, the Devil cannot bring tribulation to God’s children without God permitting him?  Yes, the Devil cannot bring tribulation to us without God giving him the express permission.

When God allows Satan to get at His children, it is called trial.  God uses trial to test your loyalty; your true position with Him.  He wants to check you out.  But the truth is that God will never leave you to die in trial.  He will strengthen you and give you the grace to go through it.

Any time tribulation comes, remember that it is not the end of your life.  Again, at such a time, remember too that you are not the first person to face such, and certainly not going to be the last.

Did you know that even King David, a man after God’s own heart, passed through terrible tribulations during his life time?  If you read his history in the books of Samuel, Kings and Chronicles, even the book of Psalms, you will discover most of the troubles that that great man of God passed through, even as a reigning king.

David did not find life easy during his days, though God loved him and he loved God too and served Him faithfully. For instance, in Psalm 31, we see the cry of the man David.

In that chapter, David prayed a grievous prayer to God and called on God to come to his rescue.  He listed his problems as: • trap set for him by his enemies.  They planted a net secretly to catch him.  • he suffered adversities. • his eyes, soul and belly were consumed with grief – great sadness and heart pains. • he suffered reproach, a state of shame, blame and resentful criticisms. • he was forgotten as a dead man out of mind. No one cared or remembered him in his suffering; he was abandoned by all. • slander, people slandered him.  •. conspiracy and evil plan to kill him.  His adversaries plotted to kill him.

He suffered all these things but never one day spoke any evil against his God.  Rather, he encouraged himself always in the Lord his God.  He did not give up on God and never lost hope that God would see him through.

The reason why I have decided to do this piece is to lay bar to the believer reading what it actually takes to be a strong, tough and uncompromising believer.  It takes all the challenges listed here and even more.

Every believer is tried by God according to his ability.  However, the choice to endure and overcome, by mustering whatever power that lies within you, is completely yours.

A former president of the USA said, “There is no man living, who isn’t capable of doing more than he thinks he can do”.  So believe you can overcome your challenges and you will.

And, Mihalys Czikszentmilaly (Ph.D), said “Of all virtues we can learn, no trait is more useful, more essential for survival, and more likely to improve the quality of life, than the ability to transform adversity into an enjoyable challenge”.  While Charles Swindoll said, “The test of courage are much quieter.  They are the inner tests like remaining faithful when nobody is looking, like enduring pain when the room is empty, like standing alone when you’re misunderstood”.

From the quotes by these great men; Henry Ford of USA, Mihalys Czikszentmilaly, (Ph.D), and Charles Swindoll, we can deduce that each of them did taste some measures of adversities and challenges in their days and might have spoken from their individual personal experiences.

They were all great men and obviously, none of them allowed their unpleasant or ugly experiences to deter them from pursuing their goals and ambitions and achieving them ultimately.

If they could make it and became what God ordained them to be, why can’t you and I do the same in our battles against our common enemy – Satan?  Of course, we can and must because there is no alternative any way.

Maintaining a Positive Attitude in Temptation and Tribulation as a Believer

Temptation and persecution are two experiences a Christian believer must not run away from. These will come at every stage of the life of any christian believer. Their occurrences are inevitable. We should therefore not be taken aback or be in despair when we are confronted by them. As believers, we must be ready to weather every storm they bring our way and keep marching on like true soldiers.

The life of a true believer is that of a true soldier. As such, he must be battle ready at all times. The enemy and antagonist that we contend with is never idle. He too is a mighty and cunning enemy. He monitors and trails our every move as we march along seeking to discover or detect any loop holes in our lives which he could exploit to derail us from our track.

One thing; a very important one at that, is the fact that even as Satan and his cohorts are drilling you about with persecution and temptations, God Himself is watching your reactions whether they are positive or negative. Whether you are manifesting faith or double mind. Your reactions, to a great extent, will determine how God too will get involved in your battles.

If your reactions are positive and show manifestation of faith in the faithfulness of God, strong and unwavering, then rest assured that God will be there to rebuke your adversary, the Devil.

What exactly is persecution? Persecution is the act of subjecting a person to intense ill-treatment, harassment, intimidation and oppression for holding contrary opinion to that of the persecutor. Such opinion could be on religion, political, social, and such like.

But the most persecuted in the world is the Christian believer. Persecution is meted out to the victim in order to frustrate and make him fail in his ambition or pursuit or make him change his mind and belief to suit the persecutor and oppressor.

What is Temptation? Temptation is a means used by the Devil to cause failure or lead a person into doing the wrong thing, especially against God, and the will and commandments of God.

Many people mistake temptation for the actual sin. But let me clear this misconception by saying that temptation itself is not a sin on the part of the person being tempted. But it is a sin for the tempter; i.e. the Devil and those he uses as subjects to carry out the act of tempting.

When a person is tempted, he has not committed any sin at that point of being tempted. But if he succumbs and dances to the tune of the power tempting him, then he has fallen into that temptation and as such it becomes a sin.

It is written that blessed is the man that endures temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to them that love him. Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempts he any man. But every man is tempted when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust has conceived, it brings forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, brings forth death.

Some temptation come to the Christian when he begins to get too ambitious and indulge in things that are not in line with the will and plan of God.

For example, when a Christian begins to crave for worldly possessions, prosperity, riches and begins to toe the path of the world in his quest to get rich quick, the Devil will pick the loop hole he’s been looking for. He will begin to exploit this weakness and start dangling all sorts of ideas and options at the Christian to entice him to go into sin.

Many have fallen out of the way like this and never recovered again to continue their Christian race. Temptation itself is not a sin, but falling into it is a sin and no sinner will go unpunished or be guiltless. Every true believer must be determined to overcome every temptation because temptation will surely come, one way or the other.

Don’t forget that Jesus Christ our Lord was tempted by Satan during his days here on earth, but he overcame. The way the Lord tackled the Devil is the same way we, his followers, should tackle him. Jesus Christ has laid an example for us by the way he responded to the suggestions of the Devil, “It is written…”

Just as the Devil can use anyone and anything to persecute a believer, he can and does use anything to tempt you. If Jesus, the Lord could be tempted, it is therefore clear and certain that no one on earth is above temptation. As such too, we must take our stand and be determined to overcome the tempter whenever he comes tempting us.

Any believer who cannot face and endure persecution and temptation, cannot get to heaven. Be very sure of this bitter truth. Unfortunately, a majority of Christian believers who have fallen by the way side from their pilgrimage, have done so because of persecution and or temptation.

Many so called Christian believers shout all over the place about how “the Lord is good all the time” because temptation and or persecution has not come. They declare their love for God when all seem to be going well and smooth for them. But the moment a little problem comes along the line, they quickly forget their earlier declaration of love for God.

A Christian Believer Must Not Compare Himself With Others. If you are reading this piece and you are looking at the lives of other people and comparing yourself with them and desiring to be like them beware. You are building a dangerous ladder for the Devil and his army of demons to climb into your life to scuttle your journey and divert your destiny.

We must bear in mind; we must have it at the back of our mind, that we must not stop our journey with the Lord half way. This our journey and relationship with God must terminate nowhere else than in Heaven, our destination.

These last days, we have been reading and hearing of pastors and prophets who are now operating with strange powers on the pulpit; on the altar. Because of the “abracadabra” they do, performing questionable miracles, those who have eyes but cannot see and ears that are deaf and hearts that cannot perceive, throng their assemblies every day just to get a piece of their poisonous ‘cake’.

Those who know the truth but choose to feign ignorance shall face the same punishment that the false prophets and magic pastors will face. Because, like Esau, they are just after the “Red Pottage” Satan uses as a bait to capture their souls after they had allowed themselves to be enticed, because of their lustful and destructive desire to be like others who they feel are doing better than they.

So, if you are indeed a true Christian that fears God today, beware. Nobody is above temptation. Satan tried it against our Master and Lord Jesus Christ. So, whatever the height you must have attained in your walk and relationship with God, Satan is ever lurking around “seeking whom he may devour”, so, “let him that thinks he is standing take heed lest he falls”. For your adversary, as a roaring lion, walks about seeking whom he may devour.” So, by all means, resist him, even with the last drop of your blood. The Bible says “he will flee”.

How can you overcome the Devil’s temptation? By making your face like a flint and always looking unto Jesus your Lord who has called you unto salvation and focus on Him alone all the way.

Check the lives of those who were tempted but they stood their ground. Their stories are written for our learning and encouragement in our own time.

One of the heroes who were tempted but he overcame is the young lad, Joseph. He is a good example of how to overcome temptation

If you are one of those who fall into and out of temptations every now and then, and each time you put the blame on Satan while exhornorating yourself of any blame, well I’m afraid, you have not yet begun any journey with the Lord. You are rather preparing yourself for damnation and eternity in hell fire.

You will do well to check out the life of the young man Joseph when he faced a serious temptation in the hand of Potiphar’s wife.

The woman, his master’s wife, wanted to lure him into the sin of immorality, begging him every day to come and lie with her. How did Joseph respond or react to her ceaseless pestering?

Joseph rhetorically asked her “…how can I do this great wickedness and son against God?”

That was the initial response of Joseph to the tempter. In the dialogue that took place between Potiphar’s wife and Joseph, Potiphar’s wife was the physical tempter, but the real tempter was the Devil himself.

When his master’s wife came and made her desire known to him, Joseph responded with an obvious shock. He then took time to point out to her, i.e. Potiphar’s wife why he could not fall into her trap.

Number one was that his master, who was her husband had put him in charge of his entire house and possessions to the extent that his master did not know the worth of his property, his assets and wealth.

Number two, he made it clear to her that by virtue of his promotion by Potiphar his master, no one else was greater than he in that house, except his master himself alone.

Number three, he told her that his master had kept nothing away from him except her, and that was because she was his wife.

Number four, he asked rhetorically “how then can I do this great wickedness and sin against God?” In other words, he was making her understand that he had the fear of God and would never do anything that would displease Him.

I need to quickly point out that at that time, Joseph was all alone in a strange land. None of his relations was there in Egypt to monitor his behaviour. I need not mention that he was also a youth, full of energy and youthful exuberance. But one thing was clear, apart from the respect he had for his master, he feared God.

He made it clear to Potiphar’s wife that he would not go out of his way to sin against God, referring and describing what he was being tempted to do as “great wickedness”.

Many men and women of God met their Waterloo in the hands of women and men of easy virtues like this Potiphar’s wife. Though Joseph was neither an official man of God nor a prophet, yet he remembered God and stood his ground, maintaining a high level of integrity and uprightness before God and man, daring the consequence.

How many so called men and women of God have secretly fallen time without number into immorality with members of their church; other people’s spouses and their consciences never pricked them at all? They still mount the podium shouting all sorts of things and topping it up with cheap speaking in tongues, deceiving themselves.

Joseph declined to join forces with his master’s wife to serve Satan. Remember he was in a land where most people were idol worshippers, who never knew the true God, yet even as a lone ranger, he did not join the bandwagon of idol worshippers or follow the multitude to tread the path of ungodliness and hypocrisy.

Fellow believer, you and I have no reason to fail in this holy race. And let me just add that the Christian race is one that does not give room for any careless recess, stoppage or slumbering.

Some Men Who Missed Hell Fire by the Whiskers Because of Temptations:

The first one that readily comes to mind is the man Samson. If you are a true Bible Scholar, you would have discovered this fact. Samson was a great man endowed with divine strength. He was appointed a leader right from his mother’s womb by God Himself.

Samson judged Israel for twenty years and in all those twenty years Israel was at war with the Philistines throughout. But the Bible records his exploits with women, which ultimately ended his ministry tragically.

God appointed Samson to deliver Israel from her oppressors, the Philistines. But, he quickly began to meddle with women from the enemy’s camp. He even went to sleep with a harlot! A man of God with God’s anointing flowing on his head. He did not regard the gift of God.

When Samson went to Gaza to look for a harlot, the people of Philistine conspired to kill him that day, if they had succeeded in killing him that time, he would have missed heaven. But he was able to escape.

All the Philistine women he joined himself to conspired with their people to kill him. Delilah was the third Philistine woman that Samson got entangled with and she it was who cut the locks of his hair; the symbol of his awesome strength. She got him for her people to pluck out Samson’s two eyes which eventually led to his untimely death in the temple of dagon, the god of the Philistines.

How about Solomon? Solomon was a man that God loved so much. A special child of King David. He was profusely endowed by God and ordained a king over His people Israel as an innocent youth. But his ministry was completely ruined by women.

He had 700 official wives and 300 concubines. 1000 wives by one man. Who can beat this? Most of these women were daughters of ungodly kings of idolatrous nations where God had specifically warned the people of Israel not to marry from.

The Bible records this concerning Solomon, “Did not Solomon king of Israel sin by these things? Yet, among many nations was there no king like him who was beloved of his God and God made him king over all Israel: nevertheless, even him did outlandish women cause to sin.”

It means that king Solomon was led into the sin of idolatry by outlandish (i.e. foreign) women; women whom God warned them never to marry.

Satan is a slave master and never wants his captives to go. Pharaoh, the king of Egypt is a perfect example of how Satan behaves when he loses his sin slaves to Christ. He does not let go at all. Believe it or not, Satan knows the weaknesses of his captives. It is these weaknesses he has discovered in your life that he will use to lure you back again to sin against God if you are not watchful.

For example, if you were a brawler; a quarrelsome person before you were converted, this is your weakness and Satan will still lurk around watching and waiting for your unguarded hour to strike and bring you down using this weakness. If it is anger, he will find occasion to push you into anger. He used it against Moses, hence that man of God could not make it to the promised land.

As a wicked slave master, Satan still lurks around to recapture not only the newly converted believer but any believer for that matter. Hence, we need to be sober and vigilant always no matter what we are passing through.

Does God Allow His Followers to Suffer?

Any time a person repents from sin and turns to Christ, it creates serious tension and rage in the kingdom of darkness. When they see this person has changed from the evil way to walk with God on the path of righteousness, they bring battles into the life of that person and all sorts of problems and suffering start for that person.

Many don’t understand this, so almost all the time, the new convert concludes that God makes His followers to suffer. They put the blame for their suffering on God; this is actually what the Devil wants them to believe so that they would change their minds and return to him.

But it is the Devil and his servants who are responsible for the believer’s suffering. Satan and his agents are the ones behind the tribulations and discouraging experiences the new convert suffers or is confronted with. Let everyone reading this piece understand this fact clearly and bear it in his mind.

A good scholar of the Bible will agree with this assertion. Recall the transaction that took place between God and the Devil before the calamities of Job started. Go and consult the Bible you will understand what I am alluding to here.

Some Words For The New Convert: As a new convert, you need to make up your mind to continue in the race you have chosen to run no matter what it might bring your way. Yes, make up your mind.

Satan is behind every challenge, opposition and persecution a new convert encounters as soon as he repents from his sins and turns to Christ.

A former follower of Satan revealed that they have a type of TV with which they use to identify a newly converted believer. Once they discover that a person is a new convert, they would begin to pursue that person seriously to frustrate him and make him backslide.

They would create all sorts of problems for him; problem in the home, problems in the place of work, problems in his business, problems with friends and family members, just to frustrate him.

They would cause him health issues; either his own health, or his wife’s, children’s or parents’. They would bombard him with all such inconveniences that were never the case before his decision to turn over a new leaf and separate from Satan.

You must also understand at the on set the type of race it is and the type of demand it will make on your life.

The Christian race is not only a marathon, it is also a steeplechase, and you do not only need your legs but much more, your heart to run it successfully to the end.

Dave Weinbaum, a writer and businessman said that for one to run a marathon, one must have legs, but to win a marathon, one must have a heart.

If you understand this, you will realize that in a marathon there is only one winner. All the others just tried, but though they have their legs, they did not have the heart (the inner strength, perseverance, and the iron-clad determination) required to win.

The new convert should have this in his mind that the race; the Christian race he has chosen to run is not as straight and smooth as the marathon. The marathon is run on a straight, smooth track or route, but the Christian race will take you through many bumps, hills, valleys, mountains, dry lands, sandy routes, storms, fire, floods, pits, even graves, grave yards, physical and spiritual confrontations with Satan and his myriad of demonic hosts and wicked forces. And you know what? You are expected to conquer them all.

In this race there will be occasions when you will fall flat to the canvas. The fall will not mark the end of the journey. You will get up nurse any injury sustained, dust yourself and continue the race. Every believer, new and old must expect this.

In some instances, you could die literally and wake up again gasping for breath; screaming “Jesus! Jesus! Jesus!” Or “blood of Jesus! Blood of Jesus! Blood of Jesus!” It is still part of the race and part of the experience of the new believer.

As a new convert, such experiences or encounters should not scare you to drop your baton and call it quits. These are what will make you a strong and powerful Christian. An authority in the race, and a mentor eventually for those coming behind.

God knows all these and he said “thus saith the Lord that created thee O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name, thou art mine. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers they shall not over flow thee; when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee”.

God knows what it will take to walk with Him and as He had promised to see you through, he certainly will. God knows what Satan can do to you because you have decided to walk with Him. So, He says don’t fear anything you encounter as you journey along. He is right there with you to strengthen you. Trust me.

Is it God that sends the waters, floods, or rivers on your way, to drown, sweep and carry you out of the way? No. Satan is. Is it God that kindles the fire on your way to burn you and stop you? No. Satan is. But God says fear not the waters. Fear not the floods. Fear not the rivers. Fear not the fire. They will not hurt you because I am with you to deliver you.

You’d better believe God and take Him for His words. I am a good example of a believer who has tasted fire, floods, even spiritual graves and pits and still came out unscathed. Why and how? Because as God promised, he has been faithful to me. Following Christ? Yes, very, very challenging but very sweet too, as you march on victoriously. If you continue and refuse to be intimidated by Satan’s antics, you will discover the sweetness in sticking with God.

Encouraging Divine Experiences for the Unwavering Believer:

When you make up your mind to stick with Christ no matter what, God will begin to open your inner eye to see Satan and his demon angels literally crying and lamenting and biting their fingers in regret. Why are they crying? Because they have failed over and over again to bring you down from the strong hand of God that holds and guides you everywhere and every day.

If you persist and persevere in your walk with Christ, you will reach a stage when just by saying “Father, in the name of Jesus,” you have not even said more than that, the next thing is that your eye will just pop open into the spiritual realm and you will begin to see all sorts of giant beings somersaulting and running away with lightning speed. I am telling you the truth.

Sometimes, it could just be a casual praising and thanking God for Who He is, and all of a sudden, your eye just pop open into the kingdom of darkness and God begins to show you the chaos that that little “casual” praising and thanking God is causing there. You will see the whole place on fire and those forces of darkness burning and running helter skelter. I am telling you the truth.

If you persevere and remain focused and faithful and committed to God, maintaining holiness and purity before God, He will take you beyond this realm always. I can assure you that. God is showing you the impact of your power on the forces of darkness just to encourage you and to let you know that you are not wasting your time with Him.

You can only make it to the end successfully if you make your face like a flint and keep marching on with your Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, no matter what. Just try it.

At the initial stage, the Christian race will look bleak, tiring, lonely and hard. But with faith, perseverance, consecration and commitment you will grow and as you grow, you will become stronger and as you become stronger and stronger, you will discover the glorious sweetness that there is in walking with the Lord. At this stage, you will never never imagine looking back from the Lord, no matter what. Trust me.
